1. Purpose & Scope
This policy sets out the standards of behavior and professional practice expected of all employees, consultants, and tutors representing Lauren Lucy Grafton Education Consultancy LLC. Our reputation is built on “discreet, high-trust support,” and these standards ensure we maintain that reputation.
2. Professional Ethics & Confidentiality
Given the high-profile and sensitive nature of our clients:
- Confidentiality: All information regarding students, their families, and their school placements is strictly confidential. Information must never be shared outside the consultancy without explicit written consent.
- Discretion: Staff must maintain total discretion regarding client identities and should not discuss client matters in public spaces or on personal social media.
- Conflict of Interest: Any personal or financial interest in a specific school or educational institution must be disclosed immediately to avoid bias in consultancy recommendations.
3. Safeguarding & Child Protection
As we work directly with children and students, safeguarding is our highest priority.
- DBS/Background Checks: All tutors and consultants must hold a valid Enhanced DBS check (or UAE equivalent) before starting work.
- Safe Environment: For 1:1 tuition (whether online or in-person), sessions should be conducted in a transparent manner. For online sessions, recordings may be kept for quality and safety purposes.
- Reporting: Any concerns regarding a child’s welfare must be reported immediately to the Lead Consultant (Lauren-Lucy Grafton) in accordance with our Safeguarding Procedure.
4. Data Protection (GDPR & UAE Data Law)
We handle sensitive personal data, including academic reports and psychological assessments.
- Data Security: Client files must be stored on encrypted, password-protected systems.
- Retention: We only keep student data for as long as necessary to complete the consultancy or as required by law.
- Communication: Professional platforms (company email/Slack) must be used for client communication rather than personal messaging apps where possible.
5. Professionalism in Delivery
- The “Fit Framework”: Our consultancy is based on the “Fit Framework” (Academic, Social, Environmental). Staff must ensure all advice is evidence-based and aligned with the child’s best interests.
- Communication Style: Communications should be “calm, expert, and guiding,” reflecting the brand voice.
- Punctuality: Tutors and consultants must be punctual for all Strategy Calls and sessions.
6. Remote & Hybrid Work
As a consultancy operating between the UK and UAE:
- Staff are expected to maintain a professional home-office environment for video calls.
- Time zone differences must be managed proactively to ensure client support remains seamless.
