Join us for an exciting in-person enrichment course where pupils will embark on an unforgettable journey through space. Inspired by current and future space exploration, including the Artemis II mission, children will deepen their understanding of space, astronauts, planets and the possibility of life beyond Earth through a range of engaging and creative activities.
Blast Off Into Learning!
Throughout the course, pupils will develop their English skills by creating imaginative space-themed stories, writing detailed non-chronological reports and exploring poetry linked to space and exploration. Sessions will carefully incorporate key writing and SPaG objectives, helping pupils strengthen sentence structure, vocabulary, punctuation and grammar within meaningful and purposeful learning experiences. Pupils will also have opportunities to develop their public speaking and interview skills through exciting discussions and a live virtual session with a real aerospace engineer, who will share insights into the world of aviation, engineering and innovation.
In Mathematics, children will tackle exciting space-themed challenges and problem-solving activities linked to measure, shape, money, rocket costs and mathematical reasoning, encouraging them to apply their understanding in engaging real-world contexts.
This innovative project will also allow pupils to showcase their creativity through Science, Art and DT, designing and creating space-inspired artwork while exploring imaginative engineering concepts linked to space travel, exploration and discovery.
By the end of the course, pupils will have strengthened their literacy and numeracy skills, expanded their scientific understanding and developed greater confidence in communication, creativity and critical thinking, all whilst having fun on an exciting journey through the wonders of space.
